This Summer, on top of participating in my Gold DofE expedition alongside my fellow Volunteer Police Cadet (VPC) Ealing Unit, I have decided to take part in this unique challenge - the Do It 4 Youth fundraiser in support of young people across the UK.
A few photos from my Silver Practice and Qualifying Expedition.
I firsthand know the positive impacts of DofE, having challenged myself to participate in the Silver Award during my time at Queensmead School (my secondary school in Hillingdon) despite never have expressed interest in such things beforehand, and feeling not fit enough to deal with the challenging expedition that I knew lay ahead of me. And despite a certain extraordinary events that my team and I encountered during my Silver expedition practice, we pushed on and completed our expedition with flying colours and new experiences that are unparalleled to this day. And now I'm lucky enough to participate in my Gold Award in spite of all the obstacles COVID-19 has caused.
COVID-19 has left so many challenges for youth to face, and DofE is able to offer all youth the chance to do something different. Therefore, my friends and I have come together to raise funds for the DofE as part of their Do It 4 Youth challenge so that disadvantaged young people can also experience DofE for themselves.
Our team (Next Level) would appreciate any and all donations towards this fundraiser to help make a huge difference to youth who otherwise wouldn't be able to take part in this amazing programme. Below are Twitter links to both my personal fundraiser page and the Team fundraiser page.
